Some folks in drier regions have started doing “desert lawns” - instead of forcing the growth of grass where it doesn’t belong with the heavy use of fertilizer and tons of water, they are planting desert grasses which thrive under adverse conditions. Interesting idea. I’ve considered just re-sowing my lawn in clover and weeds, which seems to be doing better than the grass – and as long as the weeds are short enough, who can tell?
