George W. Bush: Oh, no... the Times is here... wonder if they're still working for Al Qaeda. So do we stay the course or do we cut and run? That's a debate I'm willing to have! Okay, who's next? Marcus Aurelius! Mark: Sir, I've notice that whenever you frame a debate, it always contains false choices. After 9/11, it was, "are you with us or against us?" Then it was, "Do you prefer war in Iraq or a mushroom cloud over New York?" And then it became "Would you rather fight terrorists in Iraq or on our own shores?" The "debate" you're willing to have is always between options of your own choosing. It's the same as if we were to ask you, "Which do you prefer, admitting you're wrong or tearing the country apart?" Bush: Tearing the country apart. Mark: Oh. Uh... okay, let me try another.
