I’ve exaggerated to make the point more obvious, but the current ‘rules’ behind the selling of weapons of mass destruction are hopelessly flawed, whether that WOMD is a semiautomatic weapon or in this case a more ridiculous exploding vest. When the reason for the purchase is accepted because of the lack of integrity in the system or just because an unethical business person looking for a quick payday (cash only, please), that purchase may be used to commit acts of unspeakable horror.A person who is determined to make a horrific final exit statement for whatever reason, from losing their home or job, being bullied to death on social media or even to serve an extremist tyrant scares the hell out of me, because I know, from their perspective, this is an empowering solution to their current distorted belief system. They think this is solving their problem.Maybe my attempt here is to use a bit of humor to vaccinate myself from that terrifying understanding. The cartoon might not work for you because it’s a sad reflection of the troubled times we live in. I get that. I don’t have the answers and I understand some might not want to see the truth behind the cartoon, but my hope is that it will make other readers think
