Don’t it make you wish that they would stop changing the perfectly good names of countries we studied about – such as Burma, Siam, Formosa, the Soviet Union and Yugoslavia.
Always had fun as a university lecturer in the States. I’d ask the students if it would be acceptable to them if a foreign power build a permanent military base in America. Outrage ensued. At the time, the States had 180 permanent military bases in foreign countries.
Ambrose Bierce is credited with the quote, “War is God’s way of teaching Americans geography”. Mark Twain is also credited with the quote, “God created war so that Americans would learn geography”.
Senator Tubesocks publicly stated that the 3 branches of government were the executive, the House, and the Senate. And there are plenty of Republicans in Congress even dumber than he is.
Nothing new. My father told stories of checking the map during WWII. When Grandpa would send cards home telling where he landed (a few months prior). Places like Casablanca, Oron, Algiers, Palermo, Naples, or Anzio. Then the Islands of the Pacific he heard about on the radio, Midway, Guadalcanal, Okinawa.
A Generation later, I was searching the map of Southeastern Asia. Looking at Danang, Mekong, Hanoi among others.
25 years later we were looking at places like Kuwait, Baghdad, Mozul, Kandahar, Kabul and Jalalabad.

Most of our problems are due to our own ignorance, we should smarten up or lose it all.

From the Halls of Montezuma
To the shores of Tripoli;
We fight our country’s battles
In the air, on land, and sea;
The US Marines have a long history of fighting in faraway lands.

Biden doesn`t care where she died. Don`t ask him.

Biden has empathy, a completely foreign concept to the rapist and traitor, one Donald J. Trump.

Shades of Uncle Toby and Widow Wadman! Where the kid was wounded can be either a geographical question, as shown, or an anatomical one.
