libsmasher is just saying that liberals should be ashamed if they stoop to the level of conservatives, and should hold themselves to a higher standard than such scum.

This cartoon is right on; moderate Muslims are moderate until their sons and daughter fall in love with a christian, then watch out, they get really mad at their children, but try to kill the christian for tempting their children. Two of my friends have to live with this horror. The Muslim grandparents do not allow my friends to even visit their grandchildren, except when legal action is taken. A literal hell.

How can a “moderate Muslim” exist?-Read the Koran and count the surahs (chapters) and numbers of Allah’s “commands” to kill all who leave the religion they were born into, and all who refuse to accept Islam?-Read Arab polls and surveys of populations of Muslims who say THEY SUPPORT THE TERRORISTS.-Read the writings of Muslims who left Islam and survived and now speak at peril of death to reveal the truth of a religion that poses as “peaceful” but the daily news since 1979 proves it is furthest from being truly peaceful in every nation on earth.-A religion that rewards murder of the most helpless children and adults while hiding under a headscarf! A religion of hate to the extreme of murder for acts/opinions they dislike!-What is the matter with those who are not Islamic, but support the total silencing of those who try to tell the truth about life and death as a Muslim………Some of the same people defending Islam against criticism carry on a non-stop criticism and smear campaign against Jews and Christians.

Martyrbation: It’s not just for Christians any more! You can get in on that sweet, sweet action too.

I believe libsmasher was trying to equate blaming the assult victim with blaming the cartoonists. The analogy does not work. The girl wears the skirt because she likes the way she looks in it. The cartoonists held the event for the sole purpose of provoking a reaction.

The law of Moses, at the root of Judaism, Christianity, & yes, Islam, has a top 10 list. King James (for fundamentalists I’ve known); “Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.” Abstract art is okay, cameras are evil. Don’t draw people.

The ‘toon RIGHTLY points out that Islam, and police, in this country get the same generalizations and “respect” today. While exaggeration IS a template for cartooning, it’s also what’s made our social discussions in the last six years, so “cartoonish”. (on ALL subjects, basically)

Radicals have also taken over the major media outlets, and are overwhelmingly CONSERVATIVE in ownership, while moderation, or liberal (respecting facts rather than dogma) views, are relegated to the back burner in 90% plus of the outlets.

Remember that a lot of “good Christians” did call for Maplethorpe to be drawn, quartered, and killed, for his depiction of Jesus in urine, or of course there was that little flap about the elephant dung Jesus as well.

T’aint nothing more radical, than radical religionists, from atheists to Zorastrians.
