Goodyear makes a reasonable policy of prohibiting all political messaging on company premises — a perfectly reasonable request to reduce destabilizing divisiveness in the workplace. It is across the board, not favoring one side or the other.
But of course, that would also include MAGA hats.
So naturally, our toddler-in-chief throws another infantile tantrum and calls for a boycott that could threaten the livelihoods of a company employing 64,000 America workers in Ohio, a swing state he absolutely needs to win the election (no Republican in the history of the U.S. has ever won a presidential election without carrying Ohio; a couple of Democrats have, but no Republican — ever).
So in addition to threatening the jobs of 64,000 American workers in a swing state, Trump is telling American consumers to NOT BUY AMERICAN, but instead buy from companies owned by foreign competitors or who manufacture their tires in Europe or Mexico.
Further compounding the stupidity and the hypocrisy: the presidential limousine has special bullet-proof and run-flat tires manufactured by … Goodyear.
2020 has been a BAD YEAR. We can make it a Goodyear on or before November 3.
