@Morty – I would share your sympathy for Obama but he brought much of this upon himself.
He walked into office and the first thing he did was goad Republicans by telling him he was going to get his way because “I won”. That’s not hyperbole. Look it up.
Then, with a Democrat majority in both houses he assumed that HE could have anything he wanted. And set about taking America away from many of us (In the name of helping the hardest working people).
The list goes on and on. He alienated enough people to lose his House Democrat majority and it looks like he will lose the Senate Majority come fall. Not because Republican Senators are so much better then Democrats but because the nation doesn’t want the Bunk he’s trying to force on them.
He could fix this for himself. But instead he assumes that the American populace just doesn’t understand what’s good for them. As if we are children that need to be cared for.
It looks like resentment of the nanny state is what will be his demise. He will be remembered as a weak, ineffectual leader. WORSE THEN CARTER. And that is saying something.
