I’ve been thinking about the way people are objecting to this, and I realized that this is another sign that people are losing sight of who the President works for. For those who think this diminishes the “dignity” of the office, back in Lincoln’s day he spent a lot of time meeting with people who just walked into the White House to meet him and say hello. This was considered a requirement of the office, in the way ancient Roman Tribunes were required to keep their doors open for the populace.
The View is a lot closer to the people than staged press conferences.
