In my house, there’s no stress, but hubby has a URI, and I think I caught a bit of it. So, we replaced stress with sickness.

Reagan’s “trickle-down effect” began much of this growing stress.

Inflation in the U.S. – statistics & facts

Global events following the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022 have left a lasting impact on economies around the world. Almost every country experienced record levels of inflation, with monthly inflation in the U.S. peaking at more than nine percent in June 2022. Low interest rates, and supply chain constraints fueled by the war in Ukraine and COVID-19 contributed to the initial surge in inflation, but domestic events such as bird flu outbreak, and rental price hikes have helped to keep numbers high. A change in Federal Reserve monetary policy has attempted to curb the impacts of inflation by raising interest rates, but the extent to which this has helped is debated by economists. By mid-2023, the inflation rate had more than halved, but core inflation had been holding relatively steady.

Thanksgiving is food, family and football. No stress compared to the unfortunate consumerism of Christmas.

How much financial stress did Eisenhower’s time as president cause the people? Highest tax rates for the upper incomes and corporate taxes in the last 100 years? Largest infrastructure spending without incurring debt; of course we were not paying the president to play golf at his own golf courses where secret service was overcharged for everything, same at his hotels. Then again we are hearing about all the investigations on Hunter Biden; when did he ever receive a government check for employment? (Never) Let’s check the tRump kids, being paid by the tax payers for doing company/corporate business, and getting free rides to their overseas contacts; and charging taxpayers for staying at their hotels! Oh yea, what was that law the republicans passed in the 1960s after JFK was assassinated because they did not want another president/elected official having family working directly for them, guess they want to overlook their own because it was never applied to the tRumps. Yep lots of stress.
