The gun obsession is so widespread that a couple of women over 80 (two separate conversations) told me that they were thinking of getting a gun for “protection”. When I asked if they could actually shoot someone, neither was certain. So even if an intruder was NOT armed, they’re likely to have a gun now. And I don’t want to think what would happen to the women.

I’m still waiting for someone to propose a feasible law that will prevent this stuff from happening.

Here we go again. Not a word about the incident with 3 dead and 20 wounded. Just go after the one off in the headlines to justify taking the guns from law abiding citizens. As for the 3 and 20, seems like people don’t care and are happy with letting the criminals go free.

Hey, thoughts and prayers, right? This is ‘Murica – ain’t nobody gonna take our guns away, no matter how many people get killed. They’re just collateral damage as we preserve our right to carry more guns than the rest of the world. I’d puke if I weren’t weeping.

Isn’t it strange how mental illness does not cause gun massacres in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the UK, Japan…

If you take away all of the legal guns, the only guns remaining are the illegal guns.

I live in a small, small town. Shooting right down the road two days ago. 1 dead. The day before, two were stabbed, 1 killed about 7 miles away. Then a car chase yesterday just a mile up the road wrecked the car, a police chase on foot, cop broke his arm in the chase. The old town is beginning to sound like the hood.

No gun has ever killed anyone all by itself. And no one fears guns more than tyrants.

Not sure why it’s pointing at Illinois, we have common sense gun laws. Don’t get me wrong, some have been weakened, but Repubs that show they have no common sense, but we are far better than our neighbors. Where, most of the unregistered guns used in crimes is coming from.

I have a student in my class who keeps hitting other kids over the head with a hammer. I can’t get anything done, and the other kids hate it. Some people have asked me if I’ve tried taking the hammer away from that kid, at which point I explain that it’s not the hammer’s fault and that kids have the right to have hammers. What I’d like to do is by hammers for all of the kids so no kid will ever have problems with hammers again. More hammers will surely fix everything.

Clay should move to Chicago where gun laws are more strict than TN. But then he wouldn’t be as safe, I guess. And he would see more people of color.
