Beautiful strip today and very appropriate. I’ve often thought that the T Party and Taliban membership have mainly failed to grow up. Their ideas always seem so childish and simplistic. Unfortunately they are dangerous and others suffer greatly because of them. I think we’re going to see the wealthy corporatists, via the Chamber of Commerce, begin to squeeze them out of the Republican Party so that they (the R’s) can begin to seem at least a little bit grown up.
As compared to real things like the Biggert-Waters Act, which according to co-author, Democrat Maxine Waters, “I am outraged by the increased costs of flood insurance premiums that have resulted from the Biggert-Waters Act. I certainly did not intend for these types of outrageous premiums to occur for any homeowner. When I agreed to coauthor this legislation, our goal was to create a bipartisan solution to repair our National Flood Insurance Program. Neither Democrats nor Republicans envisioned it would reap the kind of harm and heartache that may result from this law going into effect. Plainly put, I am committed to fixing the unintended consequences of the Biggert-Waters Flood Insurance law.” Watch how many people will lose their homes or have their home become unsellable and their property values plummet. You see folks, this is called reality.
