The trick is not to immediately overload any potential subordinates. Get the more troublesome relatives to do the last minute shopping. Now is not the time for last minute dish polishing. Save children for the table setting but keep them supervised. NOBODY but the cook messes with the food unsupervised.
I have been the cook, greeter and stepgrandchild supervisor for several Thanksgiving dinners so my much-older wife could enjoy the holiday with her children.
I think Cathy’s Dad’s response was correct. That is way too long of a last minute list.
Whew. Finally able to catch up on Cathy and comments today. Was quite a shock returning from our vacation and not being able to say hi to everyone. lightenup I did wave towards Atlanta as we flew over Savannah – the first time the clouds broke up enough to see the ground. Happy Thanksgiving Eve to those of you who celebrate tomorrow.
I live in Mexico, where Thanksgiving is not celebrated. However, one chain of restaurants (Sanborn’s) does offer a facsimile Turkey Day meal every year, so a few of us will be enjoying turkey, et al. tomorrow around 3 pm.
Today’s comic makes me truly thankful that we’ll be going over to our daughter’s mother-in-law’s house for Thanksgiving tomorrow, where everyone pitches in regarding the food and it’s done in a very relaxed, casual atmosphere — none of that polished silver, ironed table-cloths and napkins, candlesticks (clean or dirty!), good china and glasses, etc., crap. Our pumpkin pies are already done and the cheesy potato casserole will be made tomorrow, which will be timed to come out of the oven almost as soon as we’re ready to walk out the door so that it’ll still be nice and hot by the time we get there (approx. 8 miles away). None of that fancy, time-consuming stuff for any of us ….. and that’s exactly the way we all like it!

Hello and Happy Wednesday, fellow “Cathy” fans. I won’t be able to come by tomorrow, so I’m going to wish an early Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends here who will be celebrating it. I’m very thankful for all of you ….. not to mention G.C. for finally getting our beloved comics up and running again just in time for me to tell you that. Love you guys! ♥

Sometimes this is the truth. These days, I give everyone a couple of jobs and that way the work is spread out.
Hello Cathy friends! Happy Wednesday! If I don’t come by tomorrow, Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate. I am thankful for you all!
