Cathy: I'm just going to have a diet soda! Charlene: Whew! I haven't indulged in one of those all year! Cathy: Now what? Charlene: Diet soda expands your stomach so when the soda leaves, you have to eat more to feel full! Also, it tricks your brain into thinking sweet things have no calories, so you eat more sweet things! Also, it trains your mouth to expect treats, leaving you in a constant "snack mode"! Also, it makes you feel self-righteous, which makes you feel entitled to a food reward! According to this study, every diet soda you drink increases your risk of being overweight by 65%!! Saleswoman: Ready to order? Cathy: Bring me a less-informed friend!! Charlene: I'm just going to have a milk shake!
