Cathy Classics by Cathy Guisewite for September 14, 1997
Transcript:
Man on phone: Charlene's told me so much about you, Cathy, would you like to go out to dinner? Cathy: I can't, I don't own any transitional wear. Man: Excuse me? Cathy: It's September 14, too hot for fall clothes, too fall-y for summer clothes. Were in that annual dreaded transitional window where there's absolutely nothing to wear unless you happened to know three month ago that you'd be invited someplace. Man: I don't care what you wear. Cathy: Yes you do. My choices are sundress or tweed sportcoat. Either one will make me cranky and you miserable. Man: Just forget it! Cathy: It isn't just me. No woman you call for the first time this month will go out with you until November. If you're not in a relatinship you started in June, when fall transitional wear was in the stores, it's over for you! Go buy a nice book! Your love life is over until November!!! And men think the fashion world has no impact on them...
