Ah. Mr. Google reminds me that Tommy Westphall was the autistic kid from the TV show “Saint Elsewhere”. I remember being outraged at the final episode which implied that all the characters and events we had cared about for years were only this kid’s imaginings enclosed in his snow-globe.
What I didn’t know about was the “Tommy Westphall Universe” that traces the appearance of other “Saint Elsewhere” characters into other shows in a spreading web.
(But fairness requires me to say that one of the most hilarious things I’ve ever seen on TV was that the series ended only when the operatic soprano with laryngitis finally sang.)
