I think Joe Biden may have thought he was going to be the next FDR along with some of his surrogates from the DNC but definitely not any progressives as many of us thought Bernie might be able to do the trick but that Joe is simply is a man who while in the senator could cut deals (many concerning the financial and corporate world which were not particularly well received by progressives) with members of his opposite party but now he is finding it impossible to get much done considering that he basically needs 100% support of his own party to pass anything and his own party has some members (more than Manchin and Sinema) who are simply not willing to go along and play ball.

FDR, Woodrow Wilson…both Terrible Presidents. So, yeah, comparing Biden to them is reasonable. Wilson was an open racist. FDR prolonged the great depression and interred Japenese Americans during WWII.

I don’t think I heard anybody say that about Biden.

And I like him, but I also think Donald Trump is about the only one he could have beat.

Anyone who ever thought Joe Biden was anything but middle-of-the-road never knew anything about him. He’s a traditional politician who’s tried to reach across party lines to pass legislation which were compromises but benefitted all U.S. citizens. As for FDR, it’s funny. My father, who was as middle-of-the-road conservative as they come, was a young man during the Great Depression. But he praised FDR for the programs he pushed to put people back to work, put food on the tables, keep folk from being evicted from homes, etc. He said that FDR saved this nation. Lord knows how much worse the Great Depression would have been with their hands-off policies.

If FDR had had Fox”News” to deal with, and if the American people had been half as lucky, (and spoiled) as we’ve been for eighty years, he’d have been a one-term President. He’d have been legislatively crippled by resentful RedState voters.

Joe is trying to herd cats – and two of them are leopards. Our anti-science Party Senate “not quite minority” Leader is a polio victim born in 1940’s Alabama. Ironic.

FDR had a higher majority in the house and senate. Give Biden those numbers and he could do far more for the American people.

    Vote Blue in 2022.

Like Biden, people who voted for FDR did so to get the previous guy the hell out of the presidency. Unlike Biden, FDR knew how to “motivate” his party to support and vote for his agenda. If someone tried to pull the kind of shit Manchin and Sinema have been pulling, FDR would have let leak to the press a blistering expose on whatever he could dig up on them, and if that didn’t work, he’d probably find other ways to make them fall in line.
