And yet each night he is drawn back to that mystical land like a moth is drawn to the light. It is a powerful addiction and he is hooked.

With the rising numbers of gun ownership and the ability of people to properly defend themselves, it should be going down long term. Bring back public hangings and it will go down more!

News: Schumer rescinds offer to Trump to fund the wall in an immigration dealLet’s see if I got this right:1. The Democrats refuse to pass a budget, thereby shutting down the Gov’t over DACA. 2. McConnell promises the Republicans will negoiate concerning in good faith. 3. Democrats get their way and pass temporary budget lasting until 2/8. 4. Democrats now refuse to negotiate, withdrawing their offer concerning the wall.

Did I miss something? Now you see why I am an Independent. Both parties are a bunch of lying self-serving scumbags. The only question is which one is worse today.

The Senate’s Democratic leader, Chuck Schumer, is taking back his offer to President Trump to fund his “big beautiful wall.”“The wall offer is off the table,” Schumer told reporters on Tuesday. “That was part of a package” that’s now defunct.Schumer first made the offer on Friday during a meeting with Trump at the White House, part of negotiations to avert a government shutdown. Schumer said he put Trump’s “signature campaign issue on the table in exchange" for legal protections DREAMers, young immigrants brought to the U.S. illegally as children.

Just admit that you are obsessed with him, love him and want him to come to the truth. It is often a very effective way of ending unpleasant encounters.

To read up on how the declining crime rate in the USA is part of a global trend toward less violence, read Steven Pinker’s 2011 book The Better Angels of Our Nature. To be fair, Pinker doesn’t contend that a continued decline is inevitable, only that it’s been pretty steady since WW2. (This, of course, is the diametric opposite of what fear-mongers want you to believe so they can keep you scared, submissive, and wanting to make getting your very own Colt .45 a rite of passage for your 7th birthday.)

About “the rising numbers of gun ownership”. While it’s true that the total number of guns owned by Americans keeps rising, the number of gun owners is in decline. It’s just that the people who really, really like their guns really, really like to have a lot of them.

If only it were so simple. While the overall crime rate was declining for many years, it started trending up again during the recession. Normal response to higher unemployment.

However, the really disturbing trend has been a rising level of violent crime in major metropolitan areas. Typically those cities/states with stringent firearm owner restrictions.
