Buni wishes his father happy father's day with a box of chocolates and a bunch of heart balloons. His dad begrudgingly takes them but smiles when Buni brings him a steak with candles in it.

For world-class roast sweetcorn, don’t husk the ears. Leave them in their natural state (fresh picked, please!) , and put the oven as hot as it will possibly go (yes, I mean about 500 degrees F or whatever your top setting is.) Put the ears, still in their husks, in the heated oven for 20 minutes. It will steam-roast to perfection.Have paper sacks or trashbags at the table, and each eater husks their own into the bags. Just a drizzle of olive oil or butter, and salt, and you have ambrosia. Angels sing softly in the distance.
Roast at least 3 ears per person, but always more than you think you will need. More than once when I’ve made this, we have ignored the other foods on the table and just eaten corn.
