I still haven’t seen anything I’d consider true AI, which would be an autonomous system that didn’t require correction or guidance apart from original orders. Still, people are beginning to realize that robots and high end expert systems are inherently different from the previous cycles of automation that required ever higher levels of human support (thus creating jobs) and are starting to take the matter seriously. So I suppose it’s a good thing in it’s way, even if it’s more than a little early IMHO.
