There was a science fiction short story about space force Landing on a planet and meeting people who wore face masks as a cultural must do. It seems those people lived on a planet with a sun that emitted very high levels of radiation causing radiation Burns if the people were going Outdoors into the sunlight. I read this in the 70s. About the same time as acid spring became a thing to be worried about. With all of the rollbacks on EPA regulations for clean air and water what could a person do to protect themselves.??? A mask it’s not a bad idea and it’s a clever idea that a person could do to protect themselves. It would probably be smarter to vote out all of these retrogressive Representatives who want to take us back to the 1920’s where profit is more important than taking care of our world..
