Oh good grief. The old browser history joke. I get it now. This a gag a day abominable atrocity is a monotonously miserable attempt at attracting a younger audience. And whatever makes em think that recycling the browser joke which we’ve all seen innumerable times in innumerable comics, is going to make this any better.
There’s no real story here whatsoever. There’s no real conflict between characters. I mean, the talking tortoise creature just got to know they’re going to go extinct and he’s just standing there being happy his browser history is going to be lost forever. Oh ha ha ha. He doesn’t even attempt to alarm the other talking tortoise creatures that they’re all going to die, so that they’d at least go and try to stop the humans from doing that. Because such a conflict would make an exciting adventure, and we can’t have that here anymore can we?
Also, what’s even worse is that these talking tortoise creatures are being blamed for destruction of the world just because… um… they’re an extra load on this planet! Oh please. As if these humans haven’t bred rapidly and gobbled up all the resources themselves, and that talking tortoise creature even mentioned that humans were the real problem in an earlier strip.
Sorry, but except for some lousy lame gag a day gags, there’s no adventure or any real story anymore in this legendary adventure strip. This looks like a poor parody, a reckles retcon, and a merciless mockery of classic Oopsie.
