2 Cows and a Chicken by Steve Skelton for July 20, 2008
Chicken: Dear Diary, it is with great sadness that I make this last entry. The wolves are at the door and we must leave this farm. It has been a wonderful home to us for many years. We have carefully planned out our route and plan to take with us only those provisions essential to our survival. Chicken: Did you remember the whipped cream? Cow 1: I thought you packed it!!! Cow 2: Great. No whipped cream. Chicken: Our plan is to hop the train from the St. Vrain Bridge. I am nervous about being out in the world but I know the cows will watch out for me. Chicken: Well, that wasn't so bad!! Chicken: In fact, I feel they would give their life for me. Cow 2: Let go you crazy chicken!! You're going to kill us all! Chicken: I look forward to making new friends along the way. Bull: It's tough all over.
