    • Medicare was pitched as a “government take over of healthcare” back then. It is a government run program. So when we had talks of cutting some of the funding to medicare, which are supposed to have happened and will have to happen regardless, Republicans were quick to now take the stand “they’re cutting your Medicare, don’t touch our Medicare” which was … originally billed as a socialist government takeover of healthcare… much like the current health bill.
    • Basically history is repeating itself. The insinuation here is that after rallying against it this second time, they will do the same again in the future if there’re any proposed cuts.
