Art holds a mirror up to Nature. The Buckets come along, turn the mirror on Art and say, “Look how goofy you’re acting. Now get to work, Art. Your kids need an Xbox 360.”
The Buckets comic strip isn’t a parody of family life. Parodies are filled with hearts and rainbows or enraged tirades and dramatic confrontation. The Buckets, though? Nope. Real life, baby. It’s funny because it’s on a page and not in your house at the moment. Next week, when it’s happening to you, you’ll thank us for reminding you that it’s supposed to be funny.
Greg Cravens looks in the mirror and see not himself, but all of us. And then he draws up the silly, grand, goofy, thrilling, utterly human things we do and calls it The Buckets.

Thank you for all of the excellent Bucket strips! I think I speak for everybody here when I say…
KEEP THEM COMING!
Happy New Year to you and your family.

I’ve often wondered why not just “reset” the whole year, and start it on a Sunday?
January 1 is ALWAYS a Sunday. Church would ALWAYS (for most) be on January 1, 8, 15 etc.

When I upgraded my Microsoft Outlook, the Calendar weeks changed from starting Monday to Sunday. It will take me all year to get used to it.

Cute cartoon.
There is concern among some people about which day is the seventh, the Sabbath. So which day starts the week is an issue for those who keep the Sabbath holy as commanded.

@pschearer
There’s a setting to change that.
Change the start day of the week
1: On the Tools menu, click Options.
2: Click Calendar Options.
3: Under Calendar work week, in the First day of week list, select the day that applies to both the full week and the work week.

I love Mondays as Monday begins my 4-day Weekend every week.. I work form Friday to Sunday 12 hour shifts. I love it as I can shop Monday to Thursday and not fight the crowds.

I usually flex on Mondays. But this time, shifted my flex day to Wednesday added a couple of vacation days.. Yes. I went in to work today. Bosses let us loose a couple of hours early. Now I’m off until the 8th! Liking that

…… and yes Eddie. Those that made the calender have been taken to the dungeon. Unless they have a very good excuse, they will be terminated with extreme prejudice on the next working day. Which is problably what happened to those Mayan calendar makers. They didn’t come back to make a new calendar.

.=Happy New Year to Everyone! It is now, on the West Coast – 6 hours & 33 minutes to midnight and 2013.
