Except for the wedding parties they kill.

Is there a moral difference between a drone attack and a bomb detonated by a cell phone? Killing without risk makes you an executioner, not a soldier.

Perhaps Linebaugh will set up something similar to the Israeli veterans’ “Breaking the Silence”.

Looks like you and Bors agree with each other today. Despite being right-wing, I agree with both of you as well.

Mr Rall is reading the Manchester Guardian again. This newspaper is a Communist newspaper from the Soviet city of Manchester (a few years ago, they moved their headquarters to London for reasons that escape me).

Until recently, they published rabid anti-UK/anti-US articles until the British government had a little talk with them (and had most of their computers smashed).

Now, they cannot write anything that criticises the UK government, or anything that contradicts the official UK version of the TRUTH, but they are still irresponsibly allowed to write articles attacking the US and contradicting the US version of the TRUTH. (Just because they provide ample proof of the truth of their articles is no reason to allow them to be printed when these articles threaten to undermine the US government’s claim of being the Greatest Force for Good the World has Ever Known.)

Officially, under Executive Orders by two US presidents, which, in the absence of any court order or US law against them are effectively—if not technically—the Law of the US, everyone killed by the US military is a posteriori a criminal enemy terrorist. Our brave soldiers, like Ms Linebaugh, have been killing not just the men terrorists, but also the women and infant terrorists, as is their duty to keep Americans safe, not to mention keeping all the US puppet dictators and the incomes of the 1% safe.

But now Ms Linebaugh has qualms, and she had her qualms published by the Guardian, unlike most of her fellow droners, who are proud of their (classified Top Secret) contributions to keeping America safe.

The overwhelming majority of Americans strongly support the drone program, making the world safe from all those men, women, and infant terrorists. So it ain’t gonna stop, no matter what the Guardian publishes.

So basically Ted now complains that the drones don’t kill enough people, just wound some of them? I guess the U.S. should move on to nerve-agent laced fragment-bombs. With these you’re either dead or fine, which would solve this problem, right?

    “Drones save lives.”

Sure they do – at least that’s what they tell us.

There is always much discussion about what people don’t like. There is no conversation oh how to solve the problem. If not drones what alternative would you use? More troops? Do nothing and let the terrorists organizations grow? If not NSA’s data collection, how would you find terrorist networks?

I’ve wondered often how enthusiastic Americans would be if, a foreign power were launching them and taking out wedding parties in Manhattan or targeting millionaire’s homes (suspected of corruption & tanking the economy) in Greenwich, CT …..

Imagine that. Governments delivering “faulty information”? Who knew?

@CCNJ's say the sky is falling

“Kill terrorists there or they kill us here. What do you prefer?”

That was silly when Dubya said it. It still is. The idea behind it was that they wouldn’t bother to come here if we took the “war” to them. Tell those people attending the Boston Marathon how well that worked.

And how much did it cost us in terms of dollars, manpower, and lives to move tons of heavy equipment “over there”? I say, if they want to attack us here, THEY should pay the freight. Let them use up their missiles, tanks, and other ordnance, and let them find a way to pay for it all. Why should we bring all the entertainment to the party?

    @Richard Wilkes

Great point. And who’s naïve enough to think that others will not follow our lead and do just that?
