    Our brave new world has arrived and only 29 years too late.

    @ConserveGov

    I can’t believe that someone would actually quote that semi-literate buffoon except for satirical purposes.

    I object to the phrase “brave new world”. This is just the same old “let’s buy off our enemies” world, no real change.

    Sorry, but Brave New World was from the ‘30s.

    The book to which you are referring has been very badly dated by both of the last two administrations, doing everything that was absolutely necessary to keep America safe from anyone and everyone the US president declares to be an Enemy of the State.

    Being infallible (if you read any mainstream publication like, e.g., the New York Times), you know that everyone killed or subjected to enhanced interrogation or incarcerated in gruesome conditions without the possibility of parole (or trial, for that matter) under the president’s orders deserved it, they were the ‘worst of the worst’ and no American can feel anything but great pride at being a citizen of the only nation on earth that can only elect omniscient and omnipotent Presidents.

    Wal-Mart is hiring contortionists and gymnasts? What’s the deal with that?

    I know that.

    @David

    “What’s with the “Brave New World” references? … ensure world order to the privacy intrusive nature of PRISM 1984 style?

    I am making figurative reference to books which may fit the corporate/government ‘New World Order’ paradigm.

    And besides, Brave New World genetics are here. And it would be a little better if the classes separated a little more (i.e. I’m sick of executive wannabe badasses getting the loudest most obnoxious motorcycle they can!)
    .
    But Ted Rall needs to reread Catch 22. Changing the words to get around the situation is de rigueur in the military. Reread Good As Gold while you’re at it. You can’t get better that Joesph Heller!

    The date was never a prediction, it was a warning. So is “The Handmaid’s Tale.”

    The hope of the Plutocrats to continuing to change our nation continues. Been doing so since 1980.

    What is this, nit-picker’s day? You’ve cured me of making literary references.
