But carry on spying on the rest of us, that’s alright, so long as you Americans are not spied on by your own NSA. :-|

The NSA is an equal opportunity spy agency.

To be fair, the British GCHQ are worse.

Snowden is definitely a traitor for not going to a US newspaper for his whistleblowing.

Had he done so, he would have learned some Spanish, specifically, the meaning of desaparecido.

If you actually read the article, the Manchester Guardian says it’s all a joint US-UK effort, so one’s about as good as the other.

Of course, the GCHQ has fewer resources, so I guess you’re right. They are WORSE at keeping the English-speaking peoples of this world safe from all the jihadist goatherds who (watch the TV series “Castle”) plant thermonuclear weapons in major US and UK cities every week (during prime time) and the top secret NSA and GCHQ programmes have prevented every one of these attacks. (In the Castle show, the timer was down to 1 second when they managed to disarm the nuclear bomb planted in New York City; of course, it wasn’t in the news because all these thermonuclear bomb attacks and their timely prevention must be classified Top Secret to keep us safe).

Actually, I used Snowden’s words from another article in the Guardian.

“It’s not just a US problem. The UK has a huge dog in this fight,” Snowden told the Guardian. “They [GCHQ] are worse than the US.”

You said “Of course, the GCHQ has fewer resources”
    Don’t underestimate the GCHQ:
“Britain’s technical capacity to tap into the cables that carry the world’s communications – referred to in the documents as special source exploitation – has made GCHQ an intelligence superpower.”

hatte gefragt, ob Deutschland kein mehr Spione habe

Perhaps the NSA & GCHQ nabbed the former Stasi after the wall fell like the USA & USSR nabbed former German scientists after WW-II?

Not just after the wall fell. The CIA took over Nazi spy organisations wholesale. For example the Gehlen Organization : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gehlen_Organization

Ever look at the clear definition by the US Constitution on what constitutes a traitor? Do it and you won’t be sounding so ill informed as you do now.
