“Is wery difficult, Comrade, to put the mushroom-shaped cloud back into the stainless-steel container!”

OOOOHH, this bites!
As it should.
Wake up.
Guns do kill people. What kind of logic can deny that?

@Ottodesu
Guns do not kill people, people use guns to kill people. That’s logical.
You know, you leftists keep telling us the right is where stupidity lives, yet this is the most inane, irrational stance one could take. Critical thinking is foreign to progressives.
Society is not to blame for these killings, the killers are.

“Guns do not kill people, people use guns to kill people. That’s logical.”
Also logical is that the bullet coming out of the gun does the killing. What’s the problem with reducing the ability to fire so many bullets in such a short time?
midaswelby said, 5 months ago
@ODon
The problem is that people can be attacked by groups of other people, necessitating the higher fire rate. Gangs and riots come to mind, but there are other scenarios to consider as well.

“…but there other scenarios to consider as well.”
Yes, like paranoia.

When a ’toon is carried to far into the absurd, the point is lost in the absurdity.

Oddly, the only examples of that are the massacres in Newtown, Aurora, VT, etcetera.
People, and children, were attacked by nuts with guns that fire large numbers of rounds so easily.
--History shows your logic is up-side-down. More guns and bigger clips are the problem along with uncle ronnie raygun shuttering our mental health system.

Insane Germans with guns kill people. We ended that in WW2.

I haven’t seen the anti-gun nuts-nuts post this:
During this same period (as America), China suffered its own tragedy in one of its elementary schools, where a deranged man went into a school and stabbed nearly two dozen students. However, the lesson the Chinese learned was that their system was better than the U.S., because they don’t allow normal citizens to own modern guns.
Psycho’s kill people, with guns, knives, bats, ropes, cars….
It would be easier to outlaw psycho’s than everything else on earth.

@mikefive Home, Mike, by definition a cartoon is humor carried to the absurd. If you don’t carry humor to the absurd, you’re not really drawing a cartoon. Or at least not a satirical one.

@Ms. Ima I support the Second Amendment. I don’t trust the government to be the only people who own weapons. That said, you are selectively referencing the incident in China. Yes, a nutcase stabbed 22 students in China. But they all lived. That’s the difference. No one wants to be stabbed, but it sure beats being shot by an AR 15 assault rifle.

Look, you want logical, I’ll give you logical. Don’t ban things that look like military weapons, it’s not doing much at all. Instead, change the permitted technical specifications for civilian guns. For rifles, three shots and a pause of 20 seconds before it can fire again. Fine for hunters, not very good for plastering a crowd. Require reregistration every five years, with live fire testing required to check that 20 second delay. This has already been done, when automatic weapons were banned, all the way back in the 30’s. You can’t own a tommy gun, but you can own things that LOOK like a thompson but don’t fire like a full blown thompson. It’s a legal matter than has passed the test of time, can’t be attacked by the SCOTUS, preserves the right to own firearms, and damages nobody but mass murderers.

@cjr53
Reagan did not “shutter” the mental health system. But aren’t you “sour” with all the cutesy name-calling and misrepresentation of facts…
.
But I guess you’re right in that by locking up all the mentally ill against their will, there wouldn’t be any on the streets to create problems for us.
So is that your argument?
