The state department essentially is backing the Syrian rebels as a whole, but is condemning groups within that army for not supporting a coalition government or having ties to Al Qeada. I guess they are saying Assad has to go, but no Muslim extremists can hold the top offices this time. Lets see how that works out for us…

I’m sure it will work at least as well as it has in Lebanon, Afghanistan, Iraq, Gaza, Libya, and Egypt.
And just for giggles: does anyone know who is running State at this time? Is Ms. Clinton still there until she gets a replacement?
And can we please find someone other than John Kerry to consider for her replacement? He has only one value in negotiation: most people can bore people to death only figuratively; he will do it literally.

Neocolonialism means that the US must find a small, weak group and use US force to get it into power. Then that group must understand that, if it is to remain in power, it must guarantee all American property rights in the neo-colony.
In Vietnam, the US backed some corrupt Christians, following the Gospel edict to spread Christianity. Christians were less than 10% in a Buddhist country, and the group the US backed was almost universally detested.
And the successors to the people who led us so brilliantly to total victory in Vietnam are leading us today in our dealings with the Middle East, so an unconditional US victory is sure and certain.

Oh, you mean the democrats? I mean, wasn’t it Kennedy that placed advisers and then escalated? Wasn’t it Johnson that escalated further?
LOL

But we started the Middle East by deposing elected governments (Eisenhower), and fought/started wars (both Bushes). And we haven’t been in Vietnam in decades.

Cognitive dissonance with high-tech weapons; never a good combination.

Each pair of boots on the ground only cost $50/month. So, imagine how many pairs we could support for 176 Million/month! Go get ’em boys!!
