Nice comment on how some Americans react to violence.

Seriously, what’s the message or intent of this cartoon? Violence is glorified in the media? TV in general is a bad influence? Or a few men are turned on by violent women? The message is not self evident here.

jrmerm: In the face of something unspeakably horrific and inhumane, some people see only a sexual turn-on. It’s like the warning that pictures of dead earthquake victims contain “nudity” – only a necrophiliac would find that arousing. Subjective perceptions of reality can be absurdly inappropriate.

Think David Cronenberg’s adaptation of J. G. Ballard’s Crash, or the thrill I get from Brett Easton Ellis’s American Psycho. You’d understand this mentality if you were a divorced man or a male culturally prone to decapitating women, that is. Hot.

^Cap’nJay: “a male culturally prone to decapitating women”, is it? Um, need to tell ya, that’s sick, boy. Get some help.
Or get a sturdy girlfriend!

The Left can’t even see a criticism of the warped thinking of MSNBC viewers when it’s spelled out for them.

Oh, it’s all about MSNBC, is it. Right.

I have to admit I really don’t get this? Please shed some light on your intent, Mr. Rall. I am almost certain there’s a great laugh in there somewhere. ^^
Maybe you agree with the guy in the cartoon. It’s plain that many millions find violence sexy. Such tastes are played to in our culture. Perhaps you are just pointing that out. Hell, it could be you are saying that MSNBC is being singled out for something all news networks do…? Maybe the wife is just jealous!
