Deploying the razor-sharp wit and incisive take-no-prisoners satire characteristic of his generation, Gen Xer Ted Rall has become one of the most widely read editorial cartoonists in America. Twice the winner of the Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award and a Pulitzer Prize finalist, Rall's work has appeared in hundreds of newspapers, as well as such magazines as Time, Newsweek, Fortune and MAD. He is also the author of 15 books, including several graphic novels and political polemics about Central and South Asia.

Well that is a good point. Obama walks on the moon though? This appears to be a middle ground for both controversy.

Hehe. It’s such a relief to see Ted Rall not be just another mindless Osama worshipper…
Still, don’t ask me to go back and look at his old Bush cartoons, either. Some of those were just BRUTAL.
Will we ever get another truly good President? Is it even POSSIBLE, in this anti-intellectual media age??
Lord, people forget that even Thomas Jefferson was a poor public speaker. And pretty much every President prior to JFK was just an old, physically unattractive white dude whom wouldn’t capture even 20% of the female vote today (and that’s the only vote that matters, according to the media)
“Meet the new boss, same as the old boss” seems to be our permanent political fate… ><

Well, then perhaps Obama should share his Peace Prize with the millions who voted for him. But for his voters, Obama would not now be The Anti-Bush.
Two can play this game. Or, rather, millions.

He is right. If the Republicans and Blue Dogs oppose him just to force him to fail, then how could he help not to fail? We need to look after the country, not partisan political interests or this really is the end for America.

Well Ted the cartoon would have been funnier if Obama had not actually encouraged all of us pulling together “out of this dysfunctional econopolitical moment we are going through”. The quotes are mine though. (My mind still numb at hearing U2 live’s performance I guess…you know, “Stuck in a Moment”?)
How can we expect a man to fix everything in less than a year with the stroke of a pen? We* chose Obama because we got fed up by the Bush cruel quasi-dictatorship–had it at least been of a benevolent, effective and intelligent kind…
The damage the Bush administration did deserves more incisive cartoons Ted. Are you really gonna let them get off that easy?
*Symbolically, as “I” couldn’t make myself vote for someone who is not at least symbolically pro-life

It is a funny cartoon.
Just because Bush/Cheney was such a lousy president (probably one of the worst we ever had at a time when we really needed a good one) doesn’t mean that Obama is a great one.
But it does mean Obama has a real chance for greatness, as much as the Far Right hates it the fact is that America wants change, voted for change, and will follow Obama if he will just lead.
It is too early to tell, but at moment it seems that he has a hard time taking action.
But the fact that he isn’t Bush/Cheney, and that the Republicans aren’t in power is a good thing – a very, very good thing.

Yes, so he needs the help of others. So do I, and that’s what I do, help others. Nothing wrong with that.
In fact, that’s how we all get ahead. We’re in this together.

I always assumed “We.” We are, after all, a country, not a collection of “me-first” individuals, no?

Didn’t Taft look like Mr. Potato head? That’s my mental picture of him…..

Little messes can be cleaned in less time they were made.
And this mess took years to create.
