Dallas will not make even 8-8 this year. Barely beating Clevland and on turkey day getting a wupping from the Redskins and RC3.
They throw away their game plan early and often. Romo threw 62 times. And their ground game? What ground game.
They gave Free, an OL a multimillion $$ contract. And then he is the one who “somehow” allows people to slide right by him and get Romo.
The defense is even worse.
Yet they win 2 games in a row and start talking about playoffs.
They started this homestand thinking that they would win every game, because the teams they were playing all had losing records.
But so do they.
So it will be 10 years since they last went to the Super Bowl.
Jimmy Johnson was the last coach who was any good. I do not count the college coach hied after Jones fired Johnson as anyone could have won with that team.

Jerry said recently that he will give up the GM duties when they lay him in the cold ground. You can take that to the bank. Jimmy Johnson was a top-notch coach, but the Cowboys miss his GM expertise even more.

madrndt, do you believe I don’t know the difference between the Raiders and the Cowboys?

No, from your Al Davis lives!!! comment, I believe you don’t know the difference between Jerry Jones and Al Davis (links show their respective Wikipedia pages; I know Wikipedia can be edited, but it’s fairly accurate in this case).

I believe he meant that Jerry Jones has effectively taken over role of terrible micromanaging owner that Al Davis used to fill. A sort of reincarnation of Al Davis if you will. Or at least that’s what I thought when i read his comment, made perfect sense to me.

Al Davis spent his entire professional life in football, starting as a coach, and used his wiles (no h) to acquire the Raiders — he paid his dues.
Jerry Jones got his first job as Executive Vice President at one of his daddy’s companies (nice to know someone at the top I guess), got lucky in hiring the right people for his oil and gas exploration business (I’m sure daddy would have bailed him out if that had failed), making enough money to acquire the Cowboys, so he could continue his football hobby/obsession.
I couldn’t possibly care less about what he does with the Cowboys, but he’s no Al Davis.

Al Davis lost it near the end of a legendary career. As a businessman, he was a pretty good football GM. Jerry got lucky with JJ, the gift of all those draft choices from the Vikings, and hitting it big with Aikman, Emmet. and Irvin. Like many, he confused luck with ability. The Cowboys have been underachievers ever since.
