Wally (typing): Dear Mr. Ebert, Critics love to pan movies about women, and not long ago you labeled the "Ya-Ya Sisterhood" "insufferable." Endless war movies are insufferable. Mindless action films with splattered body parts are insufferable. A quirky movie about women's lives and relationships is not "insufferable." ...It's just a movie you can't relate to. Too bad. And referring to the male characters as "sheepish" and "superfluous" only demonstrates how threatened you are by men in supporting roles. How narrow. How sad. Send. Joan: Thank you. Wally: Well, I'm sure you're tired of having to say it.
