The bandido El Beejay had files that put the current NSA to shame. He could threaten Southern Senators with dirt that made them glad to cast votes that meant they could never be re-elected as long as they lived. If Obama had any of El Beejay’s moxie, the Congress would have passed everything he wanted. (Of course, for all we know, maybe the Congress HAS passed everything Obama really wanted.)

Once again the Republicans are on the correct side of history.

Really? Because the Democrats who opposed civil rights legislation eventually became Republicans.

Oh cheer up, for now you have Harry Reid blocking everything that could help the country. Those GOP are being blocked from tearing down your Failures. Well at least for another year cycle. Looks like you might be out of that firewall by the end of the year ala 2010.

The Republicans in congress are doing their job. Their intention is to keep everything just as it is, unless they can manage to return to the “good old days” of the 19th century, before there was a middle class and when only the landed gentry were voters. And, they have a great strategy for accomplishing this.
    1. Disenfranchise everyone you possibly can, unless they are dependable Republican voters.
    2. Produce ads and media emphasis which emphasizes those politicians who are corrupt and incompetent. Paint all Democrats with the same slime. Lacking sufficient actual slime, simply make some up. This undermines the people’s trust in their government and makes them feel like helpless pawns, so they tune out the whole process and accept the status quo.
    3. Support the “job creators”, who are the recipients of a huge portion of the GNP, although that GNP was produced by working people, who are receiving less benefit from it every day. This gives them the money to accomplish the other two goals, and leaves everyone except the “job creators” with increasingly less money to mount a counter campaign.
So, this is the way we are going lose the middle class and become a country inhabited only by the very rich 1%, and a 99% who are too busy working two jobs to survive to notice.

What is it that Liberals do that makes them so delusional? Is it something you eat or drink? Something in the air perhaps?
The way I see it, Libs/Dems want the illegal aliens made citizens because they will vote for Dems. It does not matter to you that they broke the law.
And you despise and demonize the rich. Have you ever seen a poor person open a company and hire workers? No, and you never will; it is impossible.

And as far as “painting all Dems with the same slime”, that is what you people do to Republicans. Harry Reid stands on the Senate floor slandering everyone who does not think as he does, knowing he can say any damn thing he wants and get away with it. He is a shameful example of an American!

In short, you people disgust me.

Name for us legislation passed by Republicans over the last 20 years, that actually helped this country.

LBJ knew how to work with this Congress and cross party lines. In fact, he did get the previous civil rights act in 1957 passed the Senate when he was majority leader. I will concede that he did not have one obstructionist party in the House at the time. The problem was the Senate and all the chairmen who were blocking the legislation.

I see. So only “conservatives” know what hard work is? With such amazing, intuitive knowledge – you conservatives must have god-like powers to know such empirical truth.
Or really hate a lot of people, for some weird reason..

No, LBJ did everything he could to water down Eisenhower’s 1957 Civil Rights Bill.
