Okay, deny they happened, and don’t go “gun free zone”.

All praise to Col. Colt – unlike God, the man who made all men equal. And all praise the NRA, the world’s best funded terrorist organization.

A Detroit woman defended herself with gunfire early Tuesday morning when a group of men broke into her home.

The woman, who goes by the nickname Ms. Dee, said she was jolted awake around 2 a.m. when one of the men broke through her bedroom window of her home on Whitehill and pointed a gun in her face. Three or four more men followed behind.

“I was able to get to my gun. They didn’t know I had it. By that time, it was just gunfire,” Ms. Dee said.
She was hit in the foot and is expected to be OK. She said she believes at least one of the men was also shot.

Ms. Dee said she got a gun license after her home was broken into three years ago.

“We are regular people. We work every day. Me and my fiancé, we work every day. We don’t do drugs. We don’t do none of that,” Ms. Dee said.

A cancer survivor, she said she’s glad to keep taking whatever life throws at her.

“I told the nurse at the doctor that I think I’m a cat, because I keep just going through stuff and God keeps pulling me through it,” Ms. Dee said

Nice ‘toon. The sign about “take your gun to work” made me remember when we used to take our guns to school during hunting season. It was a rural area and the guns were left in the car, and after school, we would go to whomever’s farm or the game reserve and hunt after school. It was so much of an accepted practice that no one thought anything about it. Guns haven’t changed. They are inanimate objects. We have.

There are more occasions than shown where self-protection is suggested. I mightn’t also take self-protection for a date night or to pickup kids at a daycare or a trip to the gas station or maybe a live remote TV interview. All in all carrying a gun for self- protection is never a bad idea.

Agree. We have changed. Society becomes more complex as information, technology, individual empowerment and the ever widening scope of fringe propaganda push confused individuals past the point of reason.
Ownership of firearms by U.S. citizens is a constitutional right, subject only to rules and regulations imposed by a government, so empowered by the people.
Insuring domestic tranquility, providing for the common defense and establishing justice are also constitutional mandates.
Moderates, conservatives and liberal citizens are well aware that there is little domestic tranquility or justice to be had in the U.S. We must elect brave representatives with open minds who can see past the simpleton rhetorical cant. Republicans must be willing to regulate firearms. Democrats must be willing to accede the right of the People to bear arms. Its all spelled out in the Constitution- our duty is to make it so.

Since the First and Second are both equal, let’s treat the Second like we’ve treated the First! We could have “Free Firearm Zones” ten miles away from the nearest person, just like they put “Free Speech Zones” far from politicians, behind wire fences and policemen.

for every one incident where a gun was legally use for self defence, there are hundreds of cases where people were murdered by law abiding citizens who bought the guns legally. Save one life or hundreds that is not even a question. Of course with an intelligent gun law that one person may be saved.

“dumbass Americans will rather see their children shot than pass sensible gun laws.”

There are a number of good gun laws on the books, not dissimilar from the Swiss. One of the problems that could be easily solved would be to have local law enforcement comply with those laws.

Those were hunting guns: rifles or shotguns. Both had limited magazines and few had semi-automatic functions. Remember the days.

Yippee, you found ONE example of a gun being used in self defense. Yup, that balances the 40 innocent deaths by guns every day in America.
