The teacher’s union chief is a caricature of Karen Lewis, who is the union representative in Chicago, who has had run-ins with that tea party wingnut Rahm Emanuel who had the outrageous right-wing idea that Chicago teachers shouldn’t have the shortest working day in the country. Madness.

The White House announces disappointing signups for February and the Democrats lose a very winnable special election where they actually outspent the GOP by nearly $900,000 and ran a popular well-known candidate against a Christine O’Donnell-type Republican nominee.

In Illinois, all of the gerrymandering was done by Democrats to support Democrats and defeat 4 GOP congressmen elected in the 2010 wave. It worked. Chew on that, Mr. CPM/86King.

@Night-Gaunt, the best way is term limits. No one needs more than 4 years in any political office, or more than 8 total years in elected office.

Citizens United is the law of the land. It was also the right decision. Money is fungible. It doesn’t care what color you are, or what sex you are, or what religion you practice. As soon as you take money out of politics, you replace it with the arbitrary decisions of whoever is put in charge.
