Males generally lose muscle mass when they lose male hormones. The loss may be slowed if they replace it with female hormones (which most want) but it should eventually even out. So, yeah, if the trans athlete started taking female hormones yesterday, (s)he would have an advantage, but with suppressed male hormones and supplemented female hormones and a sufficient time period, the advantage would be much less.

The only competition that is likely to be fair (without waiting years) is females competing with born-males who transition without going through male puberty and instead go through female puberty. But the traditionalists call that child abuse and force them to go through male puberty and even then, once they are adults, probably limit their choices.

DJT and his SCOTUS appointees and legislators are trying to take us back to about 1750, so … yeah.

Then you come around with the typical leftist reply……but, but, but……..Trump!

No, I was pointing out that all politicians trip over their tongues and say stupid things from time to time. Sometimes it is on purpose, sometimes it is just rhetorical or in a moment of passion. I think people should be allowed to make mistakes, provided they apologize and learn from them. If that makes me a leftist, fine. (Better than being a lying cultist who is “never wrong”.)

Do I think I’m superior? Nope. I make mistakes all the time. But I do reserve the right to call people liars if they lie all the time (especially without issuing corrections or apologies).

Humans are the ones that have the biggest effect — enough to make (gradual but radical) change. There are species that would make a huge change if they all died at one time, otherwise none comes close to the greenhouse gases added to the atmosphere by humans in the last couple of centuries.

Every species affects the climate. That’s the kind of “truth” designed to hide what really matters: human activity is making the climate hotter, and Republicans have been denying that for the past four or five decades.

Hochul earlier said black kids in the Bronx don’t know what a computer is.

And she apologized, saying her goal was only to emphasize the need to educate kids so they can take advantage of AI and other technologies.

So when was the last time a MAGA leader apologized for one of the lies they’ve broadcast? Oh, right, I’ve never heard Trump apologize or even correct one of his lies. Got an example to disprove me?

More like an albatross around his cultists’ necks.

Make that “all of our necks” (especially if he gets into office again.

Maybe Butker’s wife is an exception: with a millionaire husband (I assume he is), maybe it was her own free will that she stay at home and be a homemaker, and he didn’t have to make it a command.

Speaker Mike knows that all the “stop the steal” and “weaponizing” and other MAGA content he is spouting are all lies, but his knowledge of the Bible hasn’t stopped him. Probably a bit more serious in his case than just “hypocracy”.

Yes, there was climate change since the beginning. Human-caused climate change is what we need to be concerned about, since we can do something to mitigate it.

Sorry, but I don’t know exactly how soon the next naturally occurring ice age is due, but it doesn’t matter since there’s not a whole lot we can do to stop it (at present).

The human-caused climate change has been going on since the invention of the steam engine, which started the industrial revolution. (Slower at first but picking up steam as the years went by.) Scientists have been warning about the carbon dioxide build up and warming of the climate since 1896. Republicans have been lying about it or denying it since about 1970.

    But you knew that…
