    We weren’t “meant” to walk on concrete or gravel, either; we evolved into bipeds in grassland. Shoes are one of our best inventions.

    Here in Atlanta, summer means sweltering heat, smog, and bugs. Can’t wait for Fall.

    To give credit to Massachusetts (where, presumably, ol’ Nate Harris and Amy lived), with its 1780 state constitution, it became the first U.S. state (or commonwealth) to abolish slavery.

    Seriously, I can’t believe we still allow circuses to make elephants do those stupid tricks. There’s a reason you don’t see elephants standing on one foot in the wild; it’s probably tremendously painful.
