What party changed the rules four years ago to deny Obama a Supreme Court pick and then changed them four years later when the rules they changed didn’t benefit them? What party protested they didn’t LIKE the fact that Trump won in 2016 … and which party REFUSES to accept the election results they don’t like in spite of vote recounts and Court decisions. And lest it be determined they are part of the Democratic plot, those certifying the recounts and many of the judges are Republicans. Who keeps saying it doesn’t matter if the majority vote for a candidate, it is the electoral college results that matter — and then decide the electoral results don’t count if their candidate doesn’t win?
Unions are very weak because there has been a very well orchestrated and very well executed effort over the last 30 years to weaken unions and convince the population they are anti-job, which isn’t true. For all the nostalgia about how things were so much better for American workers in the 50’s and 60’s, the fact is that union membership was extremely high during that time. Between 2000 and 2010, employee compensation went up 3.X%, (don’t remember the exact number) and worker productivity was between .5% and .75% higher. Executive compensation went up over 400 PERCENT!
It is fine with me if you get rid of unions AS LONG AS the country also gets rid of professional lobbyists. With all the money lobbyists have to protect their business and financial interests, the only power unions have is the collective voice of their members, since individually they don’t have enough money to be listened to — and even as an organization the money they collect isn’t anywhere near what big corporations and groups the Koch Brothers put out to make sure they control legislation. Besides, the only reason the Republicans hate the unions is because they tend to support the Democrat’s position on their issues. I can guarantee you if unions supported the Republican party, they would be praised by the Republicans instead of reviled and Democrats wouldn’t like them.
Show me one instance where “misusing the fork” hurts anybody but the person who is overweight? If multipole other people were killed because an individual chose to misuse a fork, yes it would be banned.
