   Not in this case. Marty wants whats best for his son, including a chance of getting into college, which requires good grades. Taking away Nate’s extracurricular grades to help him focus on studying is being helpful, not being a jerk. And by January 2000, it was proven to work.

   In Andrecidreweye’s defense:1 – Having a cell phone can keep you safem so you can stay in contact wiih your parents, or help you contact the authorities if there is an emergency.2 – The world is evolving. Certain things, like menus and emails, involve mobile devices to work, especially during the pandemic. For example, my school required a health questionare for entry into the building, that could only be taken and shown with a phone.So yes, he has a legitimate need for a phone.
