ha this reminded me of what I read recently…<<<It’s like waves, constantly, the equivalent of those nuances of color I was speaking about, waves of this joy of life, the joy of life rippling past, touching; …. ///… and then this joy is constant, like swells on the sea: it seems to flow on behind everything; it comes and shows its face for a moment, then vanishes. In the very tiny things of life – yes, physical life – the joy of these things, the joy life contains, this luminous, special kind of vibration, rises up as if to remind us that it’s here; it is here, it mustn’t be forgotten, it’s here – ….>>>

I’m a bad parent too. No treats. Much loving, attention and every luxury (cat castle etc)…., 2 water bowls in different places…. but no treats. What you don’t know you don’t miss. (My first child did not get treats until he was nearly 3…. , I don’t think he “missed” something).

@ what happened to Zena and Precious…We tried to take both in, but they tried literally to jump through the window screens (as they did at the neighbors’ place).. so we kept them outside (it is never colder than ~ 30F at nights here, and I kept boxes with beds outside under the patio, and they could go into the garage) with the feral family (mom & 2 daughters at that time) in the backyard.. we fixed Zena then 10 months old… but 6 months later we found Zena in the garage ;(… I think she died from depression… After the neighbors left, I had a hard time to catch her in the then former neighbors’ backyard… she hid in an abandoned couch… and then she was like a feral to me, even though she lived 9 months in the neighbors’ house… Precious died last christmas, Vet said she probably had brain tumor…. we brought her in when she was sick and it began to be cool outside, she died in our arms…

Probably nobody reads that anymore after hundreds of comments…But I have 2 stories…1) The humans of Precious (mom) and Zena (daughter) were evicted (couldn’t/didn’t pay their rent) – they asked us to keep them in our backyard, they’d be back to pick them up… never happened… (I don’t know why, don’t want to judge)2) After having a stray cat for a month around a house, feeding her once in a while, posting her photo on 3 or 4 FB local “lost/found” groups, I let her in, she came in and ate, used litter box as if this is natural: clearly NOT a feral… brought her to the vet (who estimated her around 1y old), she had not been fixed, we fixed her… now, she thinks this is her home… 3) 2 dogs had been around the period that Gracie (the cat of #2) was around, wonderful rescuers took care of these wonderful dogs.. adn the rumour was, that these dogs came from a house which was raided and all humans jailed… I do not know if this is true, and maybe, Gracie came from the same house? I would like she told me her story=> “Goldies” are numerous…
