The lockdown hasn’t worked so well in Chicago. They are way ahead of last year for the number of homicide committed in the first three months, and according to the Chicago Tribune “The majority of the victims of homicide in Chicago are young, black men”. Take from that what you will.
Of course, we’re going to completely ignore that fact under Obama CDC funding was less than it has been under the Trump, and that he enacted governmental regulations prohibiting private labs from doing the kind of testing that was needed for this crisis, making the process longer and creating backlogs, while the timebomb was ticking. Trump had to rescind this ridiculous regulation in order to streamline the testing process.
But, you know, Obama could do no wrong, and Trump can do no right.
The official reason for initiating DST is for energy savings. Interestingly, when Indiana (in the governor’s amazing wisdom) went back to DST, a study was done by Ball State in regards to energy usage. The study showed that there was actually slightly more energy used under DST than there was without.
That’s why the Democrats’ choices of candidates is highly questionable. Either of them would be well into their eighties by the end of their term.
