“…economic illiteracy…” Well, not so illiterate so as to ignore where their “campaign donations” come from. If they didn’t think that spending the taxpayer’s money on such projects would keep them in office then they wouldn’t do it. After all, it is not their money since most of them are rich enough to dodge most taxes.
I can’t speak for Tik-Tok but on YouTube even if one pays for the “commercial-free” premium tier there are still a ton of channels with product placements and these are worth a considerable amount of money, I’m sure. Companies do not generally give vloggers products worth thousands of dollars for no return.
