It is my decision. GoComics has been great to me; I’ve had freedom to play and experiment with my artwork here and work with wonderful people. I’d like to expand my comics into new formats and storylines, so that’s what I’ll try next. I’m grateful to GoComics and all of you for being there for me the whole time!

    Message from Connie:

Thank you all for letting me share my sketchbook comics and creative process in-the-rough with you for the past 8 years. You have helped me find my voice through ups and downs and learn to be a better artist.

I’m incredibly grateful to all of you and GoComics for this opportunity. I hope you’ll read the next chapter too. I’m working on it now, with all of your feedback over the years in mind.

Stay in touch at cartoonconnie.com, which is newly relaunched. I’m trying something new, but don’t worry, I’m not quitting cartooning. Thanks for all your support and taking part in the journey.

Thank you! I curate cartoons to share each week that I think will be interesting to read together or in a particular moment. That’s why they are not chronological. I selected this one from 2 years ago because NYC is finally starting phase 1 of reopening TODAY. Everything before feels like a different lifetime.

    Message from Connie, repost:

In case you missed earlier threads, I would just like to reiterate my gratitude that you continue to read my sketchbook comics here. I spend a lot of time each week personally curating cartoons from my collection to share in batches that I think might be interesting to read together on any given week. That’s why they do not appear chronologically here and there’s a mix of old and new cartoons.

I’d also like to clarify again that the comics you see here are from my journal – it is different from a syndicated strip where new content is created exclusively with GoComics. In short: this is not a syndicated strip. I don’t make money from these cartoons; I do this simply to share my sketchbook with you.

Thanks for reading and following the journey. Stay well as we all weather the storm of this pandemic. Hope you are finding daily comforts to get through. Big thank you to the brave ones on the front lines everyday.

gcottay, I try to stay home if I can, while we weather the worst. NYC is dense, so keeping off the streets helps.

I wear a mask to get groceries. In Asian countries, the idea is that you wear a mask to protect others and there’s a stigma if you don’t wear a mask. Hope that catches on here! It might help!

    Stay safe, everyone!

I hope you’re all staying well where you are in the midst of the global health crisis we find ourselves in. May it pass and may we come through it together.

Everyone, it has been a while since I’ve signed in. I have been focusing on drawing and writing new stories and I hope to eventually be able to share them. Thanks so much for reading these journal comics, following the journey, and for your support over the years. It means a lot.
