As we are approaching anew the end of Calvin and Hobbes, many of us are celebrating its upcoming 30th anniversary. If you want a place to talk with other C&H geeks about the awesomeness of this comic strip, I’d love to hear your thoughts at my Celebrating 30 years of Calvin and Hobbes facebook page, here. Anyone else doing anything to celebrate?

Also, didn’t mean to cause a stir, just wanted to express an idea I found interesting. Sorry if the discussion made you uncomfortable, especially since it’s about a fictional story. However, if you don’t find it too tense, I’d be interested to hear your reason for not thinking he really is taker-spawn? Why do you think Trullus was wrong? Is there a previous panel or two you have in mind, or is it just your gut feeling (nothing wrong with a gut feeling)? I ask out of genuine curiosity, and with a mind open to the idea that there’s another explanation.

I’m okay with agreeing to disagree. Heck, maybe Trullus was even wrong. I just thought it was interesting that Heckbender left something behind when he “took” goatsucker, just like Flimm left stuff behind when he took the children. Obviously their motives and nature were different, but I found the connection interesting considering their potential relation. That’s all I meant to say.

Never said he was a taker. Only that he’s related to them.

Yesterday I said Heckbender might be related to the takers, and you said you didn’t think so. When I said that I had this page in mind. Maybe I misinterpreted it? What do you think?
