Mimi and Holly are going to have a Teacher Counseling Session with a question from Holly to her camera man in this strip reminiscent of Harvey Johnson’s encounter with Holly Gennero McClane in Die Hard – “Did you get that?”

Starfish: I played QB in HS, and the only place girls would have thrown themselves relative to me was off a bridge. Just saying….

Actually? No. Just goes to show even distinguished art critics can be klutzes.

That Titan Tire Inflator isn’t going to do the trick, Boo. I can’t see those two guys who flattened your tires as being patient enough to push in valve stems to let the air out of your tires. Takes way too long. Slashing tires is quicker.

@Chip – Tru is standing in front of his car, which is parked at the curb. Boo is standing in front of her car, which is parked on the sidewalk. Boo’s Mom knew better than to give that girl a DL. Boo’s responses to criticisms of how she drives? “If you don’t like my driving, get off the sidewalk!”

Tie-in – Boo gets car, has accident, John saves her by breaking his silence and calling 911. Voila!

Oh, and Boo had the accident because she was in labor. The father? Stay tuned for the next Jerry Springer Show.

sdebarr: Nice one! All we need now is a scene of the team marching out the door as the School Board Chair pounds a gavel and makes threats.

    Artist Guild here -J/K

Maybe we’re seeing the last of Kaz as he starts filling out his Bucket List or starts making his plans to see the world while on Sabbatical.

Mr Reality – Not a watermelon – Gil’s crossing his arms left over right, right arm over left hand. We real men do that sometimes while we discuss sports and favorite Hooters girls.

Geeze with the art critics. Most of these “experts” couldn’t draw a stick figure. If all they’ve got for humor is putting down people who can draw, they must be pretty desperate for affirmation.

Good comment on Tru’s dad – it opens the door for Tru and Dad to have a come-to-Jesus conversation about whose dream Tru is living – his or his dad’s.

It will be interesting to see the offshoot of Tru taking himself out of the game and how Jarrod handles it.

I’m good at writing soap operas, too.

Next up, Jarrod becomes an excellent receiver and makes crucial receptions throughout the season and into the “playdowns” against a team never before referenced in this comic strip. However, on one important play, Tru opts for one of the other receivers, who drops the game-winning catch, leading to origin of the slogan, “He should have gone to Jarrod’s” (a jewelry store ad campaign thing). On the next play, the ad campaign is solidified with “He went to Jarrod’s.”

The tandem of Tru-to-Jarrod results in the two players becoming fast friends, and then basketball season starts.
