I was just wondering.. when you say it loud ‘faces’ and ‘phases’ sound the same.. so how did dad know that Calvin actually meant ‘faces’ and not ‘phases’ ??
They don’t sound the same when I say them. The middle sibilant is voiced in ‘phases’ and unvoiced in ‘faces’. The difference between ‘s’ and ‘z’.
