No Tigger, it was under Clinton that Glass-Steagall was repealed. Granted, the effort was spearheaded by Republicans, but the President signed it and after it went through a conference committe, it won with overwhelming support from both sides of the aisle.

“Have a beer with” is more a figure of speech than an actual bar order, Dale. It doesn’t matter if the prof. drinks wine or the cop drinks a Coke, the intent is the same.

Congress paying attention to the voters? Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha! That’s a good one ANandy!

I know that we went to the moon, so I’m not questioning that fact.

What puzzles me is everyone quoting Mythbusters as if they were the be-all and end-all of scientific proof. Mythbusters is a fun, entertaining show that does an okay job with science, but it’s far from definitive. Some of the tactics they’ve used to “bust” theories have been downright specious.

I find that when people apply adjectives to themselves, they’re rarely true. I mistrust anyone who describes him or herself to be “wise.”

It wasn’t one speech, pilotx. She used that same phrase over half a dozen times over a period of several years.

My question is why can’t someone so “brilliant” write more than one speech?

The more I read this strip, the more I realize how truly superfluous Garfield usually is.

And you think that will change under a government-run system, Truth? Under the Canadian system, people wait weeks to get approval for an MRI and are often DENIED. If you really think the government can “fix it,” you’re living in a dream world.
