Good on you, Pab! Amazon’s actions have prompted me to take my business to other booksellers… and as a graduate student in English Lit, I buy a lot of books!
Not quite, Hugh… the opposition leaders were reacting to what they considered Harper’s slow and inadequate reaction to the global economic crisis, as well as decisions such as cancelling public funding for political parties (something that would set Canada apart from other Western nations, and spell the demise of smaller parties - doesn’t seem very democratic to me!). The coalition may fall apart in ‘09, but the fact remains that Harper has lost the trust of the House, and needs to learn that a narrow, didactic approach is no way to govern Canada.
