Toles is on target with this cartoon. The cover could have been funny IF 13% of the population (Pew Center poll) didn’t believe Obama is a Muslim (by which, I’m sure, most mean terrorist). If ONLY “New Yorker” insiders saw the cover, they’d be “rolling in the aisles”. Unfortunately, some portion of the 13% will now believe their original fears have been confirmed.
